INSITE covered CYCLE-02, the second release on our label, Cycle Records: Laseech’s “Rising Soul”, a classic-sounding house track produced at his studio in Pula, with remixes by Kez YM and Jan Kincl. The record launched exclusively on Bandcamp, with other platforms to follow in the weeks after.
The article introduces Laseech (Andrej Lasić), the Cosada label owner whose music has appeared on BBE Music, Lumberjacks In Hell, Red Ember Records and Forbidden Dance, and traces “Rising Soul” back to his 2017 MPC sampling sessions. It presents Berlin-based Japanese producer Kez YM’s jazz-leaning version alongside Jan’s remix, and lists early supporters of the record including Laurent Garnier, Marcel Dettmann, Alex Barck of Jazzanova and K’ Alexi Shelby.
“Kez delivered a beautiful version that took it further towards jazz territory, so I decided to make a version that would bridge those two.”
“I knew we could build a very good record around Rising Soul, with versions that would give DJs different options for different moments during the party.”
