Sonar Kollektiv Berlin (2020)

INFO

Remixed is a remix EP by the German jazz-funk band Key Elements, led by Marian Tone, released on the Berlin label Sonar Kollektiv (catalogue SK393D) six months after the band's debut album came out on the same label in May 2020. Seven tracks rework four songs from the album: Mic Need Sugar with MC Toni Sauna in a Marian Tone remix, Elemental in a remix by Thallus and an original cut by Marian Tone, Fading Out in remixes by Quintin Copper and Jan Kincl, and Sua Onda in remixes by Jan Kincl and Dunloop. The two Jan Kincl remixes feature additional keyboards by Regis Kattie (Sua Onda) and additional engineering by Igor Fabris at Fabris Audio, Berlin. Out on Sonar Kollektiv, December 2020.

LINER NOTES

“Also ‘Fading Out’ is featured with two new interpretations. One of them provides the youngest wunderkind on Sonar Kollektiv, Quintin Copper from Tübingen. His remix as well as the one by Jan Kincl from Croatia are both trippy masterpieces of beatmaking vaulting jazz into the next decade.” — Sonar Kollektiv, release text
