Following his critically acclaimed 2019 solo album Poison Fruit, Azymuth’s iconic drummer Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti returned with “Katmandu” — recorded and mixed in the same sessions but mysteriously left off the album, “either accidentally or on purpose, he’s not quite sure.” The original mix, produced by Daniel Maunick, is joined by remixes from three of mainland Europe’s finest: German nu-jazz collective Jazzanova, MCDE & Faces Records’ Pablo Valentino, and Croatian house veteran Eddy Ramich — the latter reworked with Zagreb duo Jan Kincl & Regis Kattie at Cycle Studio. The EP is the second in a series of limited-edition dance 12″s celebrating 25 years of Far Out Recordings, housed in a sleeve using the label’s original 1994 semiquaver logo.
