INFO

Katmandu is a 12" single by Ivan "Mamão" Conti, drummer of the Brazilian band Azymuth, released by the London label Far Out Recordings, catalogue JD48. The track, written by Ivan Conti and Thiago Martins and produced by Daniel Maunick, was recorded in the sessions for his 2019 solo album Poison Fruit but left off the record. It comes with three remixes: by the German collective Jazzanova, by Pablo Valentino (MCDE Recordings, Faces Records) and by Croatian DJ and producer Eddy Ramich featuring Jan Kincl and Regis Kattie. The EP is the second in a series of limited-edition dance 12"s marking 25 years of Far Out Recordings, in a sleeve with the label's original 1994 logo. Mixed by Igor Fabris at Fabris Audio, Berlin; design by Alessandro Renaldin. Out on Far Out Recordings, 27 March 2020.

LINER NOTES

“Though it was recorded and mixed in the same sessions, 'Katmandu' was mysteriously omitted by Mamão from the Poison Fruit album, either accidentally or on purpose, he's not quite sure. What is for sure is that it's one of the most potent poison grooves of them all.” — Far Out Recordings, release text
