Ivan Komlinović - Trigger's Broom Remixes (2024)

Ivan is a prominent techno DJ on the Croatian and regional scene, with a musical style that transcends typical genre boundaries. While most of his sets lean toward techno (Detroit techno, deep techno, acid), he often surprises audiences with new minimalist techno/house tunes, believing that chronological and stylistic boundaries are outdated. Rejecting the "same sound for hours" approach, Ivan emphasizes his ability to improvise vividly during his sets.

The idea of taking selected instruments from the studio onto the stage had been brewing for some time, but it remained just a concept until his live performance at Moondance Festival in 2015.

He is currently immersed in his DIY projects, studio work, music production, and hosting an intimate monthly residency, "Lost and Found," at Depo Club in Zagreb.

His debut album is finished and will be released digitally and on vinyl under PDV Records (PDV074). "My debut album 'Hit The Gate' wasn't initially conceived as an album. It's more of a musical collage within the techno genre, composed of tracks with different moods and styles, designed for dark clubs with powerful sound systems. It's essentially a love letter to the musical aesthetic and philosophy that continues to drive me as both a creator and performer," says Ivan Komlinović.

The album is introduced by the single "Trigger's Broom," released today, May 3, 2024, as an EP (single + 4 remixes). For the remixes, Ivan brought together notable names from the local scene: Luka Tralić Shot, a renowned artist, performer, and music producer, one of the pioneers and key figures in the Croatian hip-hop scene, who rarely remixes other artists' tracks; Sessiondigger, a skilled music selector, passionate techno enthusiast, electronic connoisseur, and increasingly sought-after name; and Jan Kinčl, currently one of Croatia's most active and prolific DJs and producers, whose two decades of work have enriched and advanced the local techno and house scenes.
