Interview — Muzika.hr with Jan Kinčl & Regis Kattie
An early interview with the duo, published as “Jan Kinčl & Regis Kattie: ‘Singl dobro predstavlja ton koji vlada albumom’” — the single represents the tone of the album well. It ran ahead of the debut album In Plain Sight on PDV Records, with the “Florette Versions” single just out and the Dalibor Barić video a week away. Both halves of the duo answer.
What the interview covers
Jan explains how the two met in 2016 through the Cinnamon Ensemble project, how a guest spot on the track “In Plain Sight” turned into a live unit, and how the album deliberately leans on the Fender Rhodes and Detroit-ish strings, citing influences from Theo Parrish and Carl Craig to Robert Glasper and Quincy Jones. Regis describes his path from classical piano at age four to jazz. They credit the wider team — Luka Veselinović, LaSeech, Matija Duić, Igor Fabris, Ilija Rudman, Petar Dundov, Negra Nigoević — and early support from names including Laurent Garnier, Chez Damier and Kai Alcé, before sketching plans for the spring release, touring and a 12” for Fields & Forests.
